Why are mom's sarees extra special?
They are vintage.
They have mom's fragrance in them.
They are unlike any other saree that you can ever get or buy in the market.
They have memories attached to them.
You remember how mom used to wear it.
They are soft and light like air. (breath of fresh air).
They are fragile so you take extra special care of them.
They do not come with their original blouses. So you end up mixing and matching and being creative.
You just can caress them endlessly.
I got this feather-light, soft as butter, cream Chanderi saree from my mom very recently. It has olive green buttas all over and also on pallu. The edge is thin gold and olive green. My sarees mostly have big and wide borders. This is a refreshing change for me.
