Strength training for women

Strength training or lifting weights for women is really important. It helps them to build muscle and strengthen the joints. Though cardio helps you to burn calories, through strength training, you actually boost your metabolism, which helps to sculpt your body and make you look lean. Muscle, unlike fat, is  metabolically active, live tissue. Hence, as you gain muscle, your resting metabolism increases. I recommend weight training 2-3 times per week.
