Recently, the Times of India tweeted a picture of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone’s cleavage with the caption, “OMG: Deepika Padukone’s cleavage show.”
Deepika gave a befitting reply with her tweet saying, "YES! I am a Woman. I have breasts AND a cleavage! You got a problem!!??"

Today Times of India has again written a reply for it.
In my opinion, I am totally with Deepika on this issue. In India, we see pictures of actresses where even a slight sighting of an underwear is circled and highlighted as malfunction or "knicker flashing".
Visit Buenos Aires. Every woman is wearing a gorgeous dress with a thigh high slit. She enters a milonga with dancing shoes in her hand, put her feet up on the chair and comfortably ties her shoes. Her thighs are visible and so is the panty. She will not be even aware that of the men sitting right in front. Men, will not even blink an eyelid or look in her direction twice. They see this every day and every woman does the same. If the same situation was in India, men will stare at her. Women will brand and stamp her for being lose and do her character assassination. Journalists will flash her pictures. In any other country, it is very normal. Why then in India it is not normal?
Don't we all know that women do wear panties and bras? Why then a sighting of a bra strap, a panty, etc is considered a matter of such big concern that it makes headlines in national news?
I am not saying that it is fashionable to let the bra straps or panty lines show. No.
I am saying that if it is sighted, there is no reason for anyone to get aroused or to make a news about it.
Some of my American friends told me that they did not even know the meaning of "eve teasing". They were completely unaware of any such term or concept. Indian girls are not just aware of eve teasing, getting molested, ogled, on daily basis, they have to endure more than this. They have to constantly cover themselves up. Lest their cleavage shows. Lest a shirt is too transparent and shows the bra she is wearing underneath.
She would bend over double or sit on the floor to tie her shoe strap but not put her feet up on chair. Lest her panty shows. We have double standards. We are too uptight. That is the reason incidents of rapes are increasing. Men in India are no less than vultures. They can eat a women with their eyes and make her so uncomfortable that she starts covering herself, pulling her shirt up, so that her cleavage does not show. Kudos to Deepika for retorting back. We need to change some mindsets.
