Richa's Birthday

It was Richa's Birthday. The Birthday girl is the one with me in the picture below. The theme was Arabian. It was in Habibi, in Saket. There was Arabic food and Belly dancing and Arabian music.
What I wore was my Amit Aggarwal gown, that I have previously worn here. I added a cap to it. I have worn this cap here before. This cap is about 23 years old. It was a gift from my husband, before we got married.

Ritu Kumar suit revisited

I wore my Ritu Kumar suit that I had worn few days back here, again today. Currently it is my favorite.
Sometimes it happens that you buy a new outfit and you want to wear only that- every time, everywhere. And then it does not come out of the closet for years.

Best grocery shop in Delhi

In Delhi, we have very high end grocery shops where you get all imported products, exotic cheese, wines etc. Here are list of super expensive grocery stores. They have more hype and no value for money.
Nature's Basket by Godrej.
Then we have some Reliance fresh.
We have Modern Bazaar in Select City walk and Vasant Vihar.
We have age old, Morning store in GK-1, M block market.
We have Le Marche by Sugar and spice.
The latest high end grocery store is Foodhall.
Also in Mehar Chand Market, there is this Kirana store. It is supposed to be organic store. Frankly, I was disappointed with it. It had read so much about it. Similar was my experience with The Altitude store.

There are kiryana shops (grocery shops) in Yusuf Sarai market. Some of them sell things at whole sale prices, sometimes below marked price. These are pocket friendly.

Here is my recommendation. This is a small store. It is not advertised much. In fact, it is not advertised at all. It is very modest. They bake fresh breads, cookies, etc, fresh namkeens, the masalas are ground right there and are very pure. You get best atta (wheat), bran and other different types of flours. It does not have over the top, expensive, imported goods, it is eco friendly, pure and very trust worthy.
This is a shop called Matri. It is inside Mother International school, on Aurobindo marg. It is run by Auroville Ashram. Adjoining, there is also another shop which sells incense, etc. The best incense sticks that I have ever used. You can be rest assured that whatever profit they earn, is going towards the right cause.

Criticism and how to deal with it

“You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.”
― Winston Churchill

“To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.”
― Aristotle

“I pay no attention whatever to anybody's praise or blame. I simply follow my own feelings.”
― Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Any fool can criticize, complain, and condemn—and most fools do.
There was a painter, who painted a beautiful painting and put it on the road. He put a banner with it that read- If you find flaws anywhere, please put a pin on that spot.
The next day, whole painting was filled with pins.
Then he put another banner. Please correct the mistakes. If you cannot, then please remove the pin. As expected, the next day, the painting had no pin on it.
Moral of the story. When you do anything, the world  comes forth to complain, criticize and of course pull you down. Do not give up on your decisions or what you think is right. Do not succumb to criticism. Just carry on with what you think is right.

“It's easy to attack and destroy an act of creation. It's a lot more difficult to perform one.”
― Chuck Palahniuk

“The motive behind criticism often determines its validity. Those who care criticize where necessary. Those who envy criticize the moment they think that they have found a weak spot.”
― Criss Jami

Sonika's Birthday

It was a lovely Birthday party in Habibi, in Saket. Below I am with the Birthday girl, who looked stunning.

What I am wearing is a suit from Ritu Kumar. I had to go for a very important conference right after the party. Hence, this seemed apt for both the party and the conference.

Selfies

This was the conference I went to. PHD chamber. I received this memento. I was the guest Speaker and I spoke on wellness and medical tourism in India, amongst ministers and IAS officers. Official photographs would soon be sent to me.
